Medieval Reflection
February 26, 2008
1. What did I feel successful doing during the process of the project? What am I proud of?
I ‘m proud that my model impressed many people of all ages. I work so hard putting every toothpick to make the fence and the whole week I had sleepless nights working to make my oral presentation interesting.I felt that my model was the most successful object out of the whole project. The day before the medieval fair I decided to make my booth more exciting and attractive. So I made a sign that said “Castles”! I was proud of myself because it did make my booth more attracting. Some 8th grader came to my booth and was like ” this booth looks interesting. I was so happy that I made my booth interesting.
2. What new skills did I value learning?
I learned the skill of Making something out of paper mache and how to use things that are around the house. For my castle’s motte I had to blowup a balloon and stick newspaper allover it. Then i had to wait for it to dry. Then I popped the balloon and threw the remaining peices away. I then had to paint the motte a different color.
3. What was challenging during the process of completing the project? With what did I struggle?
I struggled with completing the whole project because I wanted to make it look really nice and neat. For that I had to stay up very late for the whole week. I was so exhausted by the end of the week. it was also challenging to stick all the toothpick in for my model. It was also challenging for me to make my oral presentation more interesting , though i didn’t use my oral presentation through out the whole medieval fair.
4. How could I have improved my process so that I would have been more effective?
I could have started earlier so I didn’t have to be so stressed for that week. I also think that I shouldn’t have rushed everything into one week or a couple of days. My work could have been better and looked mch more professional.
5. Did I effectively create an age-appropriate presentation and game for the elementary students? (please explain how you know it was appropriate or how you could have changed it to be more appropriate)
I don’t think that I created a appropriate game because it was too hard for them to answer questions and understand the game. They could not really pronounce all the words or understand my oral presentation. I think that I could have done a much more fun game to suite the level of the elementary students like to try to knock down the castles or build a castle.
Jeopardy Reflection

1. What did I feel successful doing during the process of the project? What am I proud of?
I felt successful for the way I interacted with my group members because we had very little time to do one power point. I think it was successful that we finished half the information in one class because my group consists of 5 people!
2. What new skills did I value learning?
I learned new skills like “how to’s” in Powers point. inserting a link, making a table, how to link each slide to the next and to the main page. These skills will benefit me in the future for example let’s say I have to make a game, I could do it on power point and apply my skills to that. I could also help the people that don’t know much about power point to make their life easier and task faster.
3. What was challenging during the process of completing the project? With what did I struggle?
The most challenging part of the project was completing the power point and actually hand it in in time to present on our day. The day we started the power point we only manage to finish 1/2 the content and insert the main outline of what we were going to do. Then the next class we were more focus and on task. We manage to finish our content but Sophie needed to take it home and insert the pictures to background that we picked out for her. I struggled with some of my group members going way off task and I could not stand that.
4. How could I have improved my process so that I would have been more effective?
I think we should been spilt up into a smaller group because there was too many people working on just one computer and as I said earlier people went off task which made me very paranoid. I also think that we should have gotten a little bit more time to tidy up the power point and make it “extra special”

United Nations World Issues Reflection
June 3, 2007
#1 Think about the presentations and reflect on the projects your classmates presented and the information you listened to. Explain with details and specific information what you learned, what you found interesting, surprising, or shocking about the presentations you heard in class.
I liked Seari,Stephan, and Kevins presentation because I learned that the people from Africa are forcing children to work for diamonds from Stephan’s share. If the children do not found diamonds or run away with them the “bosses” would execute them. I also learned that people go around without any reson killing people. I also enjoyed Maya, Nicole, and Michael’s iMovie. I learned that the climate change is going to effect us in a matter of time and we should do something about it. Overall I like the presentations and thought they were excellent.
#2 What would you change to improve your project/presentation if you were to do the assignment again?
If I were to change our project/presentation first i would try to be present on the day we presented. Second I would try to use the time we had more effectivly. I would also try to make our power point more colorful and content more funny but a little serious; because I thought that it was very dull and boring.
Homework Block “E” (April 27)

Comment on this statement: “The whole is only a strong as the sums of its parts” and wheter thiis statement is true for the United Nation.
Today my group and I was discuss about the statement “the whole is only as strong as the sum of its parts” and whether it was suitable for the UN. This quote means that if all of the parts do not work out then their is no whole .I think this statement is not suitable because when member nations ignore them they do not defend the aggression and violence of their people. This statement is also true because without the general assembly and secretariat etc. (parts) there will be no whole.

Famous Egyptians Reflection
April 25, 2007
I thought that the speeches today were awesome. Everyone had such nice costumes and wonderful speeches. In class I learned about how that Hatshetsup took over the throne of Thutmose III and how one of the pharaohs were very beautiful. I would speak a bit louder and try to make my script funnier to improve my speech. I would also choose a different choice of clothing because mine was very simple. Overall I thought my presentation was good.
Famous Egyptians Speech
April 25, 2007
This is my speech on Ptah
I, Ptah, am the creator of the universe. I am married to Sekhmet and my children are Nefertem, Mahes, and Imhotemp.I invented art, and my power could give shape to everything. Iwas known as the “Architect of the Universe.
I was a powerful god, but ever wondered why I am?
I was the creator god of and lived in Memphis, the book of dead called me “a master architect, a framer in everything in the universe”. I shaped gods, cities gnomes, provinces, and beauty. Me, Ptah, was the local god of Memphis and I was married to Sekhmet and had three children Nefertem, Mahes, and Imhotemp. In art I was represented as a god wrapped in tight garment with my head and my hands free. I was holding a stick with an ankeh, was, and djed which means life ,power, and stability. I ruled from the 2nd dynasty onwards. I was a very powerful god back then.
I, Ptah, was a powerful god and was worshipped by thousands of people. I was worshipped because people thought I created the universe and everything. People believed that I created the gods with my own heart and tongue. I ‘m Atums father and my human form is Apis the bull. I ‘m a very popular and thousands have worshipped me.
I helped improved the lives of many. But who? I had very strong impacts with the dead and living people. I helped the dead people through the afterlife so I could turn them into figures. I also built boats for them to travel on them. I saved a town of pelusiums from Assyrians with rats. Since then I have improved changed, improved, and saved lives of many.
I invented art, and my power could give shape to everything, I was known as the “Architect of the Universe.I think that Ptah is a powerful god and was worshipped by many. He was a good god and was very helpful. I know that Ptah was a warm-hearted god and he was very strong-minded.
